Description

EnviroStorm SN8 Corrugated HDPE Pipe is a high-performance stormwater drainage pipe manufactured from UV-stabilised PE100 high-density polyethylene. Featuring a smooth internal bore and corrugated external wall, this twin-wall Type B pipe offers high stiffness-to-weight ratio, enhanced hydraulic capacity, and long service life under aggressive soil conditions. Designed to AS/NZS 5065 and rated SN8 (with SN10 options), EnviroStorm is suited to a wide range of civil infrastructure, land development, road, and industrial drainage applications.

Available in DN225 to DN1050 (with custom sizes to DN4000 on request), EnviroStorm combines rapid installation with structural integrity and environmental performance — offering a sustainable alternative to concrete or PVC pipe.

In simple terms: a tough but lightweight plastic pipe that drains stormwater fast — smooth on the inside, ribbed on the outside, and built for heavy-duty civil use.

Key features & benefits

  • PE100 HDPE twin-wall design: Smooth internal bore (~0.06 mm roughness) with corrugated outer wall for SN8 stiffness and structural strength.
  • Superior hydraulic flow: Reduced internal friction offers up to 8% higher flow than concrete pipe of same nominal diameter.
  • Lightweight and flexible: Reduces transport cost and simplifies handling on site — ideal for long trench runs.
  • Fast jointing system: Push-fit rubber ring (EPDM) seal for leak-free connections and quicker install time.
  • Chemically inert & corrosion-resistant: Suitable for acidic soils, landfills, or aggressive environments.
  • Sustainable: 100% recyclable HDPE with low embodied energy and 50-year design life under buried conditions.

Applications

  • Urban stormwater drainage: Subdivisions, commercial builds, car parks, council infrastructure.
  • Transport corridors: Roads, culverts, rail embankments, and airport run-off management.
  • Rural/agricultural drainage: Field drains, culverts, irrigation return systems.
  • Mining and industrial runoff: Leachate pipelines and chemically aggressive flow systems.
  • Groundwater control: Slotted versions available for subsurface infiltration and recharge.

Specifications

  • Material: PE100 high-density polyethylene (UV-stabilised, corrosion-resistant).
  • Standard: AS/NZS 5065:2005 – Type B (SN8), ISO Type 5 certified.
  • Diameter Range: DN225 to DN1050 (custom up to DN4000).
  • Effective Length: Nominal 6 m (typically 5.83–6.06 m), call for shorter options.
  • Jointing: Push-fit rubber ring (EPDM) couplings, no glue required.
  • Internal Roughness: Approx. 0.06 mm k-value for high flow efficiency.
  • Colour: Black exterior with optional internal ID markings or stripes.
  • Design Life: 50 years (under non-pressure buried installation).

Installation (brief)

  • Install on level bedding with rubber-ring spigot/socket joints aligned for push-fit engagement. Backfill per AS2566 and project design.
