Description

Class 1000 Agi Pipe (SN20)

Class 1000 Agi Pipe is a heavy-duty corrugated polyethylene (PE) drainage coil with ring stiffness SN20 for deeper cover and higher-load subsoil drainage in road and civil works. Also called ag pipe, ag-line, drain coil or subsoil drain, it comes in slotted, socked (slotted + geotextile wrap) and unslotted carrier formats.

In simple terms: a strong underground pipe that moves groundwater away — slotted to take water in, socked to filter fine soils, unslotted to carry it between points.

Products meet AS/NZS 2439.1 for land drainage. Designers and road authorities commonly specify SN20 for higher-duty corridors; in Victoria, it suits VicRoads / Department of Transport projects when the drawings call for SN20 subsoil drainage. Always follow the project specification and standard details.

Key features & benefits

  • SN20 stiffness (Class 1000): The corrugated wall resists deformation under deeper cover and heavier live loads, so the line keeps its shape.
  • Intake options that match the soil: Slotted for collection; socked adds a geotextile filter for fine or sandy soils; unslotted serves as a solid carrier.
  • Durable PE build: PE resists corrosion and common soil chemicals; the smooth bore assists conveyance, while the outer corrugations provide strength.
  • Efficient long runs: Flexible coils reduce joints and navigate curves, which speeds installation on linear projects.
  • Standards-based supply: Manufactured to AS/NZS 2439.1; compliance documents are available on request.

Applications

  • Roads & highways: run subsoil drains in shoulders and medians under higher loads and deeper pavement structures.
  • Civil infrastructure: drain retaining walls, cuttings, embankments, rail corridors and precincts to manage groundwater.
  • Stormwater systems: use in infiltration trenches, collector lines and high-capacity subsoil networks to move water quickly.

Class 1000 formats & sizes

Format: choose slotted to collect groundwater; specify socked (slotted + geotextile wrap) where filtration is required; select unslotted for carrier or bypass sections.

Diameters & coils: 100mm (50m / 100m) and 160mm (25m / 40m), depending on SKU. For exact options, see the Dimensions tab.

Specifications

Standard AS/NZS 2439.1 — Corrugated plastic pipes for land drainage.
Material Polyethylene (PE), smooth interior bore with corrugated exterior.
Stiffness class Class 1000 (SN20).
Formats Slotted; Socked (slotted + geotextile wrap); Unslotted.
Diameters 100mm, 160mm.
Coil lengths 100mm: 50m / 100m • 160mm: 25m / 40m.

Performance & materials

High stiffness: the corrugated outer wall delivers SN20 ring stiffness for service under heavier loads and deeper cover; meanwhile, the smooth bore assists flow. Perforation pattern: an even slot layout balances intake with strength; socked variants add a geotextile barrier to help keep fines out. Material durability: inert PE resists corrosion and common soil chemicals and is UV-stabilised for typical site exposure before backfill.

FAQs

What is Class 1000 Agi Pipe?

A heavy-duty corrugated PE drainage coil with ring stiffness SN20 for deeper cover and higher loads. Made to AS/NZS 2439.1.

What does SN20 (Class 1000) mean?

SN is stiffness number (kN/m²). SN20 provides higher ring stiffness than SN8, so the pipe resists deformation under heavier loads.

Slotted vs socked vs unslotted — which do I choose?

Slotted collects groundwater; socked is slotted with a geotextile wrap for fine/sandy soils; unslotted is a solid carrier/bypass section.

Is it VicRoads approved?

Class 1000 (SN20) coils are widely specified by road authorities and suit VicRoads/Department of Transport (VIC) projects when SN20 subsoil drainage is called up. Confirm approval on the project drawings/spec.

What sizes and coil lengths are available?

Commonly 100mm (50m / 100m) and 160mm (25m / 40m). See Dimensions for SKUs.

What are other names for agi pipe?

Also known as ag pipe, ag-line, drain coil and subsoil drain.

Where is Class 1000 typically used?

Roads and highways, retaining walls, cuttings/embankments, rail and precinct drainage, and other heavy-duty subsoil networks.

Do you provide certificates of compliance?

Yes — documentation to AS/NZS 2439.1 is available on request with your order.

Which fittings do you stock?

Joiners, end caps, tees and Y branches in matching diameters for fast push-fit assembly.

Delivery & unloading?

Delivery by truck to be forklift unloaded. Crane truck available on request.
