The Stronglite Composite Lid P5 Class C is an Australian-designed and manufactured composite access cover made from reinforced polyurethane. It combines a high strength-to-weight ratio with reduced handling weight, providing a durable alternative to traditional concrete and cast-iron lids.
This version is manufactured with “VicRoads” and electrical identification moulded into the lid.
Approval Status: This product does not currently hold DTP/VicRoads type approval or a DTP Product Approval (PA) number. The “VicRoads” marking identifies the lid configuration and does not indicate DTP approval. The product has previously been supplied on Victorian road infrastructure projects; however, project-specific acceptance does not constitute DTP type approval.
Manufactured from reinforced polyurethane, the Stronglite Lid provides excellent strength while remaining significantly lighter than traditional concrete alternatives. Its reduced weight assists with handling, installation and ongoing access while maintaining the durability required for civil and infrastructure applications.
Stronglite composite lids are designed and manufactured in Australia, supporting local manufacturing and shorter supply chains. Local production also provides greater flexibility for project-specific requirements, custom markings and product configurations.
The Stronglite Lid is manufactured and tested to the applicable requirements of AS 3996 – Access Covers and Grates. The product has also undergone slip resistance and UV testing to support its use in exposed outdoor infrastructure environments.
Stronglite lids can be customised to suit specific project requirements, including colours, identification text, company or asset-owner logos, project-specific markings and locking configurations. Australian manufacturing also provides greater flexibility for customised production requirements.
Stronglite lids incorporate screw dimples that allow the lid to be secured to the supporting frame where required. This can help reduce the risk of lifting or displacement during flood or high-water events. The adjustable fixing arrangement can also assist with variations in existing pit and frame installations.
The Stronglite Composite Lid P5 Class C is available in both lockable and non-lockable configurations. Lockable options can accommodate the Stronglite Locking Mechanism or the Barri Bolt Locking Mechanism, depending on project requirements.
