Description

VicRoads Concrete Single Batter Outlet (SD 1641)

The VicRoads Concrete Single Batter Outlet is a one-pipe headwall for subsoil drainage systems that complies with VicRoads / DTP Standard Drawing SD 1641 (Type 1). It controls outlet discharge, prevents erosion, and ensures effective surface and subsurface water management.

Each unit is manufactured by SVC Products Pty Ltd from 32 MPa plain grey concrete reinforced with 5 kg/m³ Texo R58 fibres. The design incorporates an Ø100 PVC pipe and litter-guard collar cast in, a rear socket, and a 1.3 t Swiftlift for handling.

Related option: VicRoads Concrete Double Batter Outlet.

Key features & benefits of the VicRoads Concrete Single Batter Outlet

  • SD 1641 compliant: Matches VicRoads/DTP detailing for single-pipe headwall outlets.
  • Durable construction: 32 MPa concrete with Texo R58 fibres for long-term strength.
  • Integrated Ø100 PVC outlet: Cast-in pipe and collar with litter guard reduces maintenance.
  • Ease of handling: 1.3 t Swiftlift anchor for safe lifting and installation.
  • System compatibility: Coordinates with SD 1611 (Subsurface Drain Pits) and SD 1631 (Terminals).

Single Batter Outlet applications

  • Subsoil and pavement drainage where controlled outlet discharge is required.
  • Road and infrastructure projects constructed to VicRoads / DTP standards.
  • Embankment and shoulder drainage to prevent erosion and maintain pavement integrity.

FAQs

Is this VicRoads approved?

Use: complies with VicRoads / DTP SD 1641 (Type 1). The authority publishes the standard detail; products are supplied to comply with it.

When do I choose single vs double?

Single suits one subsoil line or lower combined flows. Choose Double where two lines terminate or higher combined flows are required.

Which drawings does this interface with?

SD 1611 (subsurface drain pits) and SD 1631 (pavement drain terminals). Follow the project design.

What outlet pipe size is typical?

Projects commonly nominate 150mm outlets from pits; confirm upstream design and any transitions (e.g. to PVC/HDPE/FRC).

Can I order units pre-cored?

Yes—supply blank for site coring or pre-cored to order. Nominate pipe sizes, centres and invert levels at order.

What are the typical size and weight?

Approx. 900mm x 715mm x 390mm and 370kg. Confirm exacts at quotation/order.

Do I need a flush-out riser?

Often recommended for maintenance. Single flush-out riser sets are commonly used with single outlets; double sets with double outlets.

How is erosion at discharge managed?

By the designer’s detail—e.g. rock beaching, apron slab, Reno mattress, or vegetated swales.

How is offloading handled?

Delivery by truck to be forklift unloaded. Crane available on request. Ensure safe access, level ground and clear lifting zones at site.

Lead times?

Standard units are often available quickly; pre-cored/custom units require additional lead time. Confirm at RFQ.

What information helps quote faster?

Quantity, pre-coring details (sizes/centres/inverts), delivery suburb/postcode, required date, and any access constraints.

Do you provide datasheets and warranty?

Yes—spec sheets and compliance info are available; customs may include shop drawings. Standard warranty against manufacturing defects applies.
